DOSTON KI DUNIYADAARI
This fellowship was founded in 2023. It focuses on building young people’s understanding about the state and their relationship with it as citizens. It offers exposure to urban youth from marginalised backgrounds to know their rights offered by the Indian constitution. It trains them to engage with their communities through understanding and document their collective issues. Building on the extensive advocacy experience of CPD, this fellowship goes a step further to expose youth to democratic methods of mobilising communities to gain their rightful services from the government.
Trainings and Activities
Our young fellows are engaged through exposure visits and exchanges, as well as practical training with the CPD team as they interact with state governing bodies. Through the fellowship, they build “ekta kattas” in their neighbourhoods to create platforms for community engagement, celebrations and building solidarity. They are also trained in diverse story-telling and communication styles such as music, theatre, writing and public speaking. 10 fellows are selected for each cohort of the CPD Doston ki Duniyadari Fellowship for consistent engagement over a period of 3 years.
